What UIGEA means for USA Players and Gamblers
The infamous online gambling ban that was passed in 2006 under the George Bush administration will come into full force this December 1st, 2009. This law was followed by the UIGEA which stands for Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act.
This Act attempts to bring down the online gambling industry and this includes sportbooks, poker and casino sites. US players are scared and doubtful about what will come to pass in less than 3 weeks.
We want to explain to our readers that the UIGEA is an Act that is targeted at the companies that provide and allow transactions for gambling. It does not affect gamblers and players directly in the sense that the government would prosecute them.
